Sustainable mobility[modifier | modifier le wikicode]

The aim of sustainable mobility is to promote social inclusion, the efficient use of resources and the continuous reduction of mobility impacts on human well-being and the environment. The intervention strategy to achieve this goal lays on three integrated lines of action: reduce mobility needs (Avoid / reduce), encourage the use of more sustainable transport modes (Shift); continuously improve means of transport to render them more efficient (Improve). This strategy, adopted by EEA and UNEP, takes the acronym ASI. Using this approach, the Foundation develops strategies for action, writes research reports for evaluation of policies and, organizes events and meetings for the dissemination and diffusion of good practices.

Sharing Mobility[modifier | modifier le wikicode]

Sharing Mobility was launched in Italy by a decree of 27 March 1998, sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment, which defines the use and forms of multi-ownership that may arise from the principle of the sharing of property, that it is about means of locomotion, or systems such as the Peer to Peer, free-floating ...

This initiative found its inspiration towards the geographical basin of the Emilia, in East of Florence, land of the Etruscan civilization which inspired later the Roman empire. Now on the initiative of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, they create the first national conference of sharing mobility with the help of a national observatory and a Foundation (sustainable development), composed of 50 members. This conference aims to share best practices.

To date in Italy, the sharing mobility is 13,000 bicycles, 5,800 cars, offered in 200 municipalities for 700,000 users.

The presence of bicycles is more pronounced in Northern Italy (64%) and the success is linked in part to delegates who take a rigorous management of their offer. Biciincitta (city bike) operates on 115 municipalities 6 241 bikes for 1418 stations. Note that generally bicycles are equipped with a GPS.

Car-sharing, about 700,000 registered users, 5,800 vehicles in 29 cities, figures that quadrupled over the 2013-2015 period. Service addressed mainly to the communities of + 250,000 inhabitants. Again, market dominated on the City of MILAN with 34%, Rome 26% and Turin 14%. The success of Milan would take into account the combination of sharing solutions, bike, pedestrian, public transport, with measures of discouragement of the use of the solo car.

These Sharing services tend to evolve by allowing users to express their journeys, their needs, and the authority adapts / proposes the best solution (Transport on Demand, shared taxis, etc.).

It is in fact to orient the mobility single-user-vehicle to mobilities with different means of transport whether they are individual or shared. In fact, 4 major changes are to operate both techno and amenities:

  • The significant use of the Web and its platforms to identify requests
  • The autonomous car
  • Electric mobility
  • Shared mobility

Also note that for more than 10 years, there is a "Limited Traffic Zone" that forces traffic on days and slots, without exception, including for tourists unless they deposit baggage. Then they are asked to leave their car in a parking lot.

In summary, the report indicates the realization of the observatory with its participation a myriad of companies. It is in this device that studies are conducted towards consumers / users in order to better understand attitude behaviors.
